FASD TOT Training Participant RequirementsWithin SIX MONTHS of completing a week-long FASD Training of Trainers (TOT), participants must plan, provide, and evaluate at least two trainings for health and/or allied health care providers or students. Upon successful completion of all TOT requirements, participants will be awarded the TO "FASD Educator Certificate" from UW-Madison. Check out the GLFRTC Training Protocol Checklist (PDF)Pre-PlanningPowerPoint presentations (or other training materials) must be based on the CDC's "FASD Competency-Based Curriculum Development Guide for Medical and Allied Health Education and Practice". Contact Kristi Obmascher at 608-261-1418, toll-free at 1-800-752-3157, or email: kristi.obmascher@fammed.wisc.edu to receive a print and/or electronic version of the curriculum guide. Presentations using the PowerPoint templates from the curriclulum guide or those provided to TOT participants by the GLFRTC do not need to be pre-approved. All other presentations MUST be approved in advance in order to meet the TOT requirements.
EvaluationTraining provided in conjunction with the GLFRTC must address and evaluate at least one (and up to all 7) of the competencies from the "CDC FASD Curriculum Development Guide". Standardized pre- and post- evaluation questions will be used for each of the 7 CDC competencies. At your trainings, please ensure that you address all of the issues that will be evaluated (i.e. the evaluation questions that correspond to the competency(ies) you are covering). For your information, a sample PowerPoint has been developed for each competency that includes the corresponding evaluation questions--See Below. Right click and use the "save as" option to open these as PowerPoint files. Please note, you do not need to use these PowerPoint slides--they are for your information.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)The Great Lakes FASD Regional Training Center (GLFRTC) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison may be able to provide Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from UW-Madison for trainings that that you provide. CEUs are awarded by the Department of Professional Development and Applied Studies at UW-Madison. To apply for CEUs, please subit the "CEU Application Form". Email Kristi Obmascher for more information.

Planning GLFRTC TrainingsAt least three weeks prior to a planned training, submit the following forms to the GLFRTC (mail to: Kristi Obmascher, GLFRTC, 1100 Delaplaine Court, Madison, WI 53715; or
Email). Please note that unless you are using a PowerPoint from the "CDC FASD Curriculum Guide" or a pre-approved GLFRTC presentation you must also have your presentation pre-approved. The GLFRTC will send you an email within two business days confirming receipt of your training request. Within four business days you will be mailed a packet including any requested training materials and copies of the 'Pre-Training Evaluation' (yellow) and 'Post-Training Evaluation' (pink).

Check out the GLFRTC Materials Request/Distribution FormMarketing Your Training Programs/WorkshopsPlease feel free to use our materials to promote your local FASD trainings, and/or contact us for marketing assistance. We can provide multiple copies of the GLFRTC brochure; or download and print copies (a PDF version of our UPDATED brochure is below). We have also developed two versions of a sample training flyer (see below). Please feel free to modify and use to promote your local FASD trainings. One version is available as a word document. The second is saved below as a PDF file; but can be emailed as a Publisher file. You must have Publisher software to open and use that file.

Post-Training
Within two weeks of completing a training return the completed pre/post evaluations, and training participant list; along with the forms below. Within three weeks of receipt of these items, we will send you a "Training Evaluation Summary Report".
